Sadly, we have received sad news from our twin town, Cwmbrân:
On 17 July, Stuart Cameron passed away at the age of 79. Stuart Cameron was one of the founding members of the Friends of Bruchsal Society, the Welsh counterpart to the Friends of Cwmbrân Society in Bruchsal. A trained industrial photographer and local politician, he served as chairman of the Friends’ Association for three terms of office.
Stuart was a member of Torfaen County Borough Council and Cwmbrân Parish Council for many years, and also held the office of chairman on several occasions.
Stuart Cameron was a visionary and a staunch European for whom relations with Bruchsal were a matter close to his heart. He remained committed to the town twinning right up to the end and maintained close friendships with the people of Bruchsal. During our last meeting in November 2024, Stuart enriched our visit with his charming and friendly manner and provided profound insights into the history of the town twinning.
The Freundeskreis and the Friends of Bruchsal Society owe a great deal to Stuart Cameron; his tireless commitment to the town twinning between Bruchsal and Cwmbrân will never be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Pam and all his loved ones.
