\u201eChor grenzenlos – without frontiers\u201c: Music builds bridges
With this motto, an extraordinary concert took place at the Bruchsal Civic Centre on
Sunday, 26 October, 2025, hosted by the Bruchsal Police Choir chorus delicti,
conducted by Rigobert Brauch. The event made clear that music knows no borders,
as there were not only the guests from Wales involved but also numerous musicians
from the Musik- und Kunstschule (MuKs).
Claudia Rohde, chairwoman of the Bruchsal Police Choir, welcomed the audience
and emphasized the significance of this autumn concert, i.e. to show the revitalized
relation between Bruchsal and Cwmbr\u00e2n. In his welcoming address, Lord Mayor
Sven Weigt underlined the unifying power of music and paid tribute to the
commitment of all the participants, who have created a cultural experience in a class
of its own with passion and heart and soul.
The programme offered titles from musicals and pop to spiritual, gospel, and
exclusively arranged works. The Big Band of the MuKs, conducted by Peter Klein,
provided the suitable musical frame with rich groove and energy. The MuKs project
orchestra, conducted by Irene Schultz-Neumann, impressed with lively youth and joy
of performing. A special guest of the evening was the Welsh Harmonize Choir from
Cwmbr\u00e2n, conducted by musician, teacher and entertainer Chris Davis. Together
with host chorus delicti and the Big Band, they made the audience swing along with
classics such as What A Wonderful World.
An emotional highlight was the world premiere of the song Lilienthal\u2019s Dream, a
recently arranged choral work by Rigobert Brauch, performed by chorus delicti and
the project orchestra. For the grand finale, all the participants \u2212 chorus delicti,
Harmonize, Big Band and project orchestra \u2212 met on stage for an impressive
performance of Skyfall, Africa, and Don\u2019t Stop Me Now, before the German and
Welsh national anthems ceremoniously concluded the concert.
Music as a common language
The audience gave a long-lasting applause for an evening full of emotion, sound, and
congenial warmth. \u201cMusic is the common language of mankind,\u201d Caren Denner, Chief
of Police, quoted the American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in her greeting \u2212
and that is exactly what was felt on this evening: music creates understanding,
confidence and solidarity, across borders, cultures and generations.
The concert \u201cChor grenzenlos – without frontiers\u201d was much more than just a musical
experience \u2212 it was a lively facet of the cultural friendship between Bruchsal and
